Flow Velocity (ART Flow)
The Wiveez Flow Velocity allows you to follow the achievements on the Iterations of an Increment, consolidated across all the teams of a Train.
Flow Velocity within the framework of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is a key measure of the performance of a Program's teams. It represents the number of work items (such as features, bug fixes, or technical debt tasks) completed in an Iteration, consolidated across all Program teams.
This metric helps assess the ability of teams to deliver value quickly and consistently. In particular, in the context of SAFe, Flow Velocity makes it possible to:
Monitor delivery capacity: By measuring the number of work items completed over a period, one can assess whether teams are able to keep pace with business commitments made during PI (Program Increments).
Predict future performance: By tracking velocity over time, it is possible to predict the ability of teams to deliver new work items.
Optimize workflow: If velocity decreases or fluctuates, it can signal issues in the process (like bottlenecks or frequent interruptions), allowing teams to respond accordingly.
Flow Velocity is part of a broader set of Flow Metrics in SAFe, which also includes Flow Time, Flow Efficiency, Flow Distribution, and Work in Progress (WIP). Together, these metrics provide a comprehensive overview of a team's performance and effectiveness in delivering value.
