Configure a Program (ART Flow)
Wiveez allows you to manage the Flow Metrics of a program, regardless of how your projects are configured in Jira.
Configure ART Flow ticket types
Configure the Processing Flow of a Program (ART Flow)
When selecting the Wiveez Products to associate with the Program, Wiveez retrieves all of the Flow stages of the different Products.
The Program Flow configuration allows you to select only the steps used to manage the ticket types of a Program, i.e. those selected with the “ART” option when configuring Ticket Types .
Configure Program Workflow Efficiency calculation
Efficiency in Flow Metrics measures the proportion of active work in relation to the total cycle time of a task. In other words, it is the ratio of time a task is actively worked on to total time, including waiting periods.
It helps assess whether processes are efficient by minimizing wait times or blockages, and it helps identify bottlenecks in a workflow. Higher efficiency means smoother workflow and less wasted time.
Configure the Fields to use for Program management
Wiveez adapts to any Jira configuration, allowing you to define the fields to use for managing an ART Flow type Program. The selected field can be a Jira custom field.
The user is asked to select:
Increment: Jira fields used to manage Increments within an ART Flow. By default the “Fix Version” field is selected;
Iteration: Jira fields allowing you to manage the Iterations of the teams of an ART Flow. By default the “Sprint” field is selected;
The team: Fields used to identify the teams of an ART Flow. By default, the “Team” field is selected;
Business Value: Fields used to calculate the Business Value created on an ART Flow. By default, the “Business Value” field is selected, if it exists in your Jira Instance
Let's take as an example a SAFe Train made up of 3 teams. In Jira the following configuration has been defined:
1 project containing ART Flow level elements (Feature, Enabler Feature, etc.);
1 project for each Train team (3 projects: Alpha - Beta - Charlie), in Scrum mode;
1 “Program Increment” field, used to manage ART Flow Increments;
1 “Program Iteration” fields, allowing you to manage the pooling of team Iterations, at the ART Flow level;
1 “Team” field, allowing you to identify which team a ticket is associated with;
1 “Business Value” fields, allowing you to track the business value generated by tickets.
Management of Increment Objectives
Wiveez allows you to track the achievement of the Objectives allocated to the Increments of your ART Flow.
Select the Increments to measure on the ART Flow
Wiveez allows you to calculate the Flow Metrics of your ART Flow, via the selection of Train Increments.
You can select a maximum of 12 Increments.
The increments displayed are those associated with the fields selected in the “Fields” page.
Select Increment Iterations
Wiveez allows you to select the Iterations to use on your Train to calculate the Flow Velocity of the ART Flow.
You can select up to 60 Iterations.
The Iterations displayed are those associated with the field selected in the “Fields” page.
Define the Performance Objectives of your ART Flow
Wiveez allows you to define performance objectives on all Flow Metrics of your ART Flow.
Depending on the measured result, an indicator will be associated with the Metric;
Green: Performance is in line with the objective;
Orange: Performance must be monitored because it is at risk compared to the set objective;
Red: Performance did not achieve the set objective.
