Monitoring Increment Objectives (PI Objectives)

Wiveez allows you to track the Objectives of an Increment, by Team.

Description of SAFe Objectives

In the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Objectives play a key role in planning, aligning and executing work across the organization. Here are the main types of objectives in SAFe:

  1. Team Objectives: These are the commitments made by each team when planning Program Increments (PI). They represent the work items the team plans to complete in a PI (typically an 8-12 week cycle), and include both objectives aligned with program priorities and those specific to the team.

  2. Program Objectives: Group and synthesize the objectives of the participating teams into an Agile Release Train (ART). They provide an overview of what the program as a whole aims to accomplish during the IP. They are used to evaluate the progress and success of program deliverables.

  3. Stretch Objectives: These are additional goals that teams or programs would like to achieve, but without formally committing to. They are considered "bonuses" if conditions are favorable, but are not a priority or mandatory to deliver.

Objectives in SAFe facilitate alignment across teams and hierarchical levels, enabling more consistent execution of large-scale strategic initiatives. They also serve as instruments of communication and coordination between teams, business owners and other stakeholders.
